Xiaomi is reportedly working on the next generation of  their Mi Note lineup along with a new version of the flagship device, the Mi5s. According to the reports, the Mi Note 2 will be launched in three variants, standard, high, and top-end.

Gizmo China reported that the details for the exact hardware components of the device are not known. However, it did tip on some of the features that the device may have. According to the platform Weibo, the alleged standard Mi Note 2 variant will feature single rear camera setup, Hi-Fi chip, and will support quick charging. The high Mi Note 2 variant will pack a dual camera setup at the back in addition to the standard version.

The top version of the device may also come with a curved screen, but will have similar specifications to the standard and the high versions. The report also speculates that 4GB of RAM in the standard version and 6GB of RAM in the high version may be launched.

Coming to the new variant of the flagship device, the Mi 5s will arrive in the second half of the year. The device will reportedly feature a pressure sensitive display that will work the same as the 3D touch on Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

Other features on this device include Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an upgrade for the camera to a dual camera setup. According to My Drivers, the device will come with the same 5.15-inch display.

Recently, the company also developed the first Chinese developer ROM for the Mi devices. The version is called 6.6.16 of MIUI 8 China Developer ROM and the company has also revealed the changelog.

We have seen a similar pressure sensitive display on the Meizu Pro 6 and according to the review by the Press Insider Daily, the whole implementation is limited to small functions as Android doesn’t have support for this feature. We would like to see how this feature will be implemented on the upcoming device.
