iQOO appears to be preparing a major design change for its next flagship smartphone. The iQOO 16 has reportedly been spotted with a redesigned rear camera module, which gives it a different look from the current iQOO 15.

According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the iQOO 16 will feature a square-shaped camera module with heavily rounded corners. An alleged image of the phone’s rear panel has also surfaced, showing the new design.

The leaked module appears to house three rear cameras arranged in a connected layout. The camera island is also expected to have a textured finish, with additional detailing around its frame.

The rear panel itself could also get a new treatment. DCS claims iQOO is using a newly developed manufacturing process that will create a distinctive pattern on the back of the phone. If the leak is accurate, iQOO seems to be focusing more on the phone’s visual identity this time instead of simply carrying forward the design of the iQOO 15.

There is still no official confirmation from iQOO about the phone. However, recent leaks have already revealed several details about the upcoming flagship.

The iQOO 16 is rumored to use an Extreme version of Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. It could also feature a 50-megapixel primary camera and a massive 8,500mAh battery. Another recent leak claimed that the phone could support a 165Hz refresh rate display.

The iQOO 16 is reportedly expected to launch sometime this month, although iQOO has not announced a launch date yet.

If these leaks turn out to be accurate, the iQOO 16 could be an interesting upgrade not just because of its performance, but also because of its new design and unusually large battery.
