TwitterTwitter is becoming more serious about its messaging feature. In its developer forum, company confirmed that it will remove the 140 characters limit from Direct Messages next month.

Company confirmed it to developers so that they can change their apps to accept more than 140 characters in direct messages. This change actually makes sense because in direct messages, we want to explain things. But we are restricted to write within 140 characters. As twitter is a micro-blogging website, it is good enough to restrict 140 characters in tweet. But in private, we need freedom to communicate.

This restriction will be removed from July. So, you will have to write within 140 characters in DM for few more days.

As we earlier reported that Twitter wants to slowly become the leading medium of communication. This is the reason it is improving its direct messaging feature to allow users communicate in better way. Earlier, it launched group messaging and also allowed users to share tweets in messages. In coming months, we can also expect to see more changes in messaging feature.
