OnePlus 2 fingerprint sensorAs expected, now we know another important thing about upcoming OnePlus 2 smartphone. OnePlus 2 will also feature fingerprint sensor. Company also claims that you will be able to unlock your device faster than iPhone. Fingerprint sensor on OnePlus 2 will be “faster than Touch ID.”

Company said that average user checks smartphone 200 times per day. Making phone unlocking faster can save around an hour a week. Apple’s TouchID and Samsung’s recent flagship devices also come with fast fingerprint sensors. It will be interesting to see what OnePlus will showcase in its next flagship device.

OnePlus also said that the new smartphone will let you save up to 5 fingerprint profiles. So, you can use any of your fingers to unlock your device.

“On the OnePlus 2, one quick tap takes you right to your homescreen. With the ability to store up to five fingerprint profiles, it’s fast, it’s safe, and it’s secure. Your smartphone is your most personal device, and its security should be personal, too,” company said.

It will also be interesting to see the placement of fingerprint sensor on the smartphone body. It can either put it in home button or at the back side below the rear camera. If it puts fingerprint sensor below the rear camera, recent leaked pic which claimed OnePlus 2 with fingerprint sensor at back will be true.

Company will officially announce this smartphone on July 27 at virtual reality event.  Till date, company confirmed the improved 810 Soc, USB Type C port, oxygen OS and fingerprint sensor. More information will also be unveiled soon. But for the final look, we will have to wait for the launch event.

Android M will come with native support to fingerprint sensors. So, next Nexus devices will also come with fingerprint sensors. With built-in OS support, more number of devices will come with Fingerprint support.
