Kingston is the popular company which offers various storage devices. In past, we have reviewed its storage devices. In this article, we will check about Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0 (32GB). As the name suggests, it offers duo functions. It supports both USB and microUSB ports. So, you can use it directly in system and mobile devices both. This device comes in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB storage capacity but our review unit is of 32 GB storage capacity. It is worth to mention that drive supports all major desktop operating systems including Windows, Linux and Mac. But it only supports Android mobile OS. It does not support iOS because they use a proprietary connection.

Design:

Design of the device is similar to most of the pendrives available in the market. It has microUSB and full USB port at either side of the device. At first look, you will only be able to see USB port. But pull USB port and then try to turn. You will see the micro-USB side of the device. Black cap is to protect the mico-USB port. At one side of the black cap, you will find the Kingston logo and the name on the other side. You can use the device with both smartphone/tablet and desktop/laptop devices. It also has a place at the center of the device to put the ribbon.

You can use it both desktop and smartphone devices. Using it on your desktop does not need anything. But to use it on your smartphone/tablet, you need to have a file manager. With the file manager, you can easily access files of the device and perform copy or cut operations.

Benchmarking:

You can check the benchmarking test result below. Read/write speed seems good.

Update: I mistakenly uploaded wrong benchmarking test earlier. I have updated the image with correct one.

Conclusion:

This is not the only duo device available in the market. But design and performance of the device seems impressive. If you use smartphone/ tablet and desktop regularly, this device is for you. You can quickly transfer files between your smartphone and laptop devices. You do not need to attach your device with your system via a USB cable. You can directly transfer data to this pendrive from your smartphone.

CONS
