Android One Phones in India Will Get Lollipop Update Next Week: Google

When Google announced Android One program, it confirmed that all the smartphones under this initiative will be “very first device” to receive get Android Lollipop update. Now, a Google spokesperson has confirmed that Android One smartphones will get Android 5.0 Lollipop update next week. This update will be available for all the Android one smartphones including Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, Spice Dream Uno and Spice Dream Uno H.

Although Google has not kept the promise and these are not very first devices to receive the Android update. But at least they are pushing the update. Motorola devices and Nexus 5 have already received the Lollipop update in India. So, Android One users were complaining about the promise Google forgot.

If you are the owner of any Android One device, you can expect the OTA update notifications next week or later. This may be late in your device due to gradual roll out. If you want it as soon as possible, keep on checking your device’s software update by visiting settings -> About Phone -> System updates. If update is available for your device, you will see it there.
