Skype for Web brings instant messaging direct from browser

Today, Skype has announced the beta version of its instant messaging platform which allows users chat with friends directly from Skype web interface. This does not require any kind of browser plugin. It will be done via Skype.com and supports Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari browsers.

Skype for Web in Beta and it offers a quicker and easier way to connect with friends and family. So, if you are not with your system, you can use Skype direct from browser. This is the best option if the system does not have Skype installed.

For using Skype for web, you only need to visit Skype.com and login with your Skype account. You will be able to connect and chat with your Skype friends. But for making voice and video calls, it requires a plugin. But in future, it will be without any plugin because Skype has already planned to offer plugin less service by using WebRTC standard.

Skype for web is not available for all users. Microsoft is rolling out this service gradually and will be available to small number of existing users for now. Other users will get this service in coming months.

Earlier this year, Skype was also launched for Outlook.com worldwide. It also lets users use Skype service direct from Outlook.com inbox.
