Amazon announced Fire Phone with HD display, Quad Core Processor and 2 GB RAM

Finally the wait is over. Amazon has announced its first smartphone ‘Fire Phone’ at an event at Seattle. It looks like other smartphones in the market but comes with few smart features. it has the ability to track user’s head. Amazon’s Jeff Bezos said that the smartphone is built for Amazon Prime Customers.

Amazon Fire runs on Amazon based Fire OS, forked version of Android. It comes with customized user interface.

The Fire Phone feature a 4.7-inch IPS screen. It has Gorilla Glass on both the front and the back. As predicted, it is capable of displaying 3D images. Amazon calls this “Dynamic Perspective technology” which adds the illusion of depth behind the screen. Dezos also demonstrated how 3D display could be used for shopping and browsing.

It is powered by a 2.2 GHz Quad core processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It is packed with 2 GB RAM. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera with image stabilization and f2.0 lens. It has a dedicated camera key. Fire Phone offers unlimited free photo storage on Amazon Cloud. You can store your camera photos on cloud.

It also has an awesome feature: Firefly. This feature lets you scan any product, music, tv show playing in background and then buy it from Amazon. This feature can be activated via a dedicated physical button. To provide fitness related information, Amazon has integrated MyFitnessPal with Firefly. Firefly can see arts and then pull up information from Wikipedia. Company claims that it can identify 100 million different items. Amazon will also release an SDK for developers.

Company says that it cares about customers. So, it will listen to customers within 10 seconds of their calls.

It is priced at $199 (32GB) and $299 (64GB)
