Android 4.4.X Kitkat has continued to increase the Android market share. It runs on 8.5 percent of total active Android devices. Other Android versions show the downfall as compared to the last month stats.
Android Jelly Bean tops with 60.8 percent of market share. But it was 61.8% in April. Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread are continued to decline. Android Froyo and Honeycomb are almost dead. Honeycomb account for 0.1 percent and Froyo account for 1 percent active Android.
Growing adoption of Kitkat is a good sign for Google. Kitkat comes with many cool features and better integration of various Google services including Google Now. Google should also ask smartphone vendors to upgrade their users to latest version of Android.
