AllThingsD reported that Yahoo might invest or completely acquire Tumblr to attract young audience to Yahoo’s properties. Yahoo is in talk with Tumblr executives but it doesn’t mean that they will finalize the deal in favor. Yahoo CEO, Marissa Mayer has been meeting Tumblr’s CEO David Karp.

Tumblr is a popular blogging platform with billions of monthly pageviews. on September, 2011 Tumblr crossed Wikipedia in terms of pageviews with 13 billion pageviews a month. Tumblr now hosts more than 100 million blogs. These numbers are enough to show the popularity of this blogging platform. Tumblr was founded in 2007 and company has 175 employees.

If Yahoo get success in the deal, Tumblr will get better advertising methods and revenue and Yahoo will get  more exposure and visitors. We are not sure about the future of talks, but we have an eye on the this. We will report if there is anything interesting.

Yahoo was also interested in Dailymotion but the deal didn’t get successful. Yahoo is also trying to talk with Hulu and few other companies. It will not be surprising if Yahoo buy more companies in near future.
