Today at Google I/O Conference, Google announced that its Android operating system has reached up to 900 million activation. Google is seeing 1 million activation per day. Google also revealed that Android users have installed more than 48 billion Android apps till date.
For 900 Android activation, 500 Android devices activated in last 1 year. Google has also shared that more than 23 billion apps have been installed in last 8 months. back in September 2012, Google revealed 25 billion app installs. Google will soon overtake Apple’s 50 billion app installs.
“Android started with a simple goal to bring open standards to the world. Today, it is the most popular mobile operating system in the world,” said Android and Chrome boss, Sundar Pichai.
Google also pointed out that more than 7 billion people live in the world. So they have a long way to go.
Android devices are available as tablet, smartphones, video games systems and Glass. Price range of these devices also suit any kind of users. This is the main reason of the popularity of Android devices.
