Yesterday, we reported that latest version of Java is suffering from a zero-day vulnerability. This vulnerability may allow attackers to control a computer running this version of Java when users visit few compromised websites.

Today, Oracle has finally release the update 11 that fixes all the vulnerabilities in the older version including this. The update is available via Oracle’s Web site. Users can also update Java from the Java Control Panel. If you want to update Java install in your system, widows users can go to control panel and then click on Java icon. Here click on update now in the update tab.

After this update, Java has change the way it handles the web applications.

“The default security level for Java applets and Web start applications has been increased from ‘Medium’ to ‘High.’ This affects the conditions under which unsigned (sandboxed) Java web applications can run. Previously, as long as you had the latest secure Java release installed applets and web start applications would continue to run as always. With the “High” setting the user is always warned before any unsigned application is run to prevent silent exploitation,” Oracle says.

Oracle has released the update in just 3 days that is really nice. But Java has been hitting by many vulnerabilities for past few months. So you should remove it from your system if not is use for your daily work.
