Nvidia Launches Tegra 4 Mobile Quad-Core Chip

Nvidia, company that makes processors and graphics chips has launched its next generation mobile chips Tegra 4. Nvidia chips already powered many Android devices including Nexus 7 tablets.

This new quad core Tegra 4 is claimed to have 6 times more processing speed that its predecessor Tegra 3. To show the power of Tegra 4, Nvidia CEO also demonstrated the chip powered by taking photos with high dynamic range (HDR) in essentially real time.

New Tegra 4 is based on the ARM Cortex-A15 CPU design with 72 individual Nvidia GeForce graphics cores. It means the graphics of power of the processor is too high. Users will be able to enjoy 4K-resolution video to an Ultra HDTV.

Nvidia CEO, Huang also claimed that Tegra 4 has better processing power that iPad 4.

Nvida has also designed a handheld Android gaming controller called Project Shield that is powered by Tegra 4.

This is just amazing. We can also expect some more this kind of announcements from mobile manufacturers in the coming months.
