Google Cancels Android Event Due To Hurricane

Google has now cancelled its Android event scheduled for October 29 due to Hurricane Sandy. Google has announced this via an email sent to media. This event was scheduled to be held in New York which was expected to felt hurricane. This storm has already killed dozens of people so Google does not want to take any risk.

Google Sends Invites For Android Event on Oct 29

Google said in email, “We are cancelling our Monday morning event in New York due to Hurricane Sandy. We will let you know our plans as soon as we know more.”

Google was expected to unveil Android 4.2, rumoured to be named Key Lime Pie, Nexus smartphone (made by LG Electronics) and a new 10-inch Android tablet, made by Samsung.

Now we will have to wait for next few days to get Google Nexus and other Google launches.

Google’s event was planned to compete with Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8. So, This seems to be a good news for Microsoft which has the event for its Windows Phone 8 launch on Monday. Now Google will not surprise Microsoft with its launches.
