Web app for Apple iPad and iPhone launched by FT

A new FT web app for the Indian market is available directly through a web browser at app.ft.com/india, for the Apple iPad and iPhone. This information is unveiled by the Financial Times, business news daily.

Users can access all stories on the home page for free, exclusively in India, while streaming the web address.

Managing Director, Rob Grimshaw, at FT.com, said, “With rapid economic growth and an ever increasing number of talented and influential business leaders, India has long been a strategically important market for Financial Times. The launch of our new app will help the FT accelerate its growth in the region and put our news and analysis straight into the hands of those business people who need it.”

The app also provides information while the user is offline. The user can simply add the website to the homescreen for offline access.  The app comes  with an exclusive $49.40 subscription offer for readers in India who purchase their subscription through directly through the app.

The FT app is currently available in the iOS format for iPhone and iPad, but will become available for the Android platform in a week or two.
