Twitter has finally announced an awesome change to its social network. Now it supports animated GOF images. This new change is now live on website, Android and iPhone app.

Twitter has announced this new update via a tweet containing the animated GIF.

It is worth to mention that Tweet will not automatically animate. You will have to open the Tweet on its own. This has been done to prevent you from downloading large files.

Support for GIFs was highly requested feature on social media. Google+ already support this and Facebook refused to add support GIF images.
