Google has introduced the Fitbit Air, a new wearable device designed for users who want fitness tracking without the distractions of a smartwatch display. The new tracker focuses on lightweight design, long battery life, and seamless integration with Google’s health ecosystem.

The Fitbit Air comes with a screenless “pebble” design, which makes it the smallest wearable in Fitbit’s current lineup. Instead of showing information directly on the device, all health data, activity tracking, and notifications are handled through a connected smartphone using the Google Health app.

The compact design appears targeted at users who want continuous health tracking without wearing a bulky smartwatch all day. At just 5.2 grams for the tracker itself, Fitbit Air is also extremely lightweight.

Despite its small size, the tracker includes several advanced health monitoring features. It supports 24/7 heart rate tracking, resting heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, sleep tracking, heart rate variability monitoring, and heart rhythm monitoring with atrial fibrillation alerts.

Google says the device can deliver up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. The company has also included fast charging support, where a five-minute charge can provide enough power for a full day of usage.

One of the more interesting features is seamless tracking continuity across Google devices. Users can wear a Google Pixel Watch during the day and switch to Fitbit Air at night without losing health and fitness tracking data.

The Fitbit Air is fully managed through the Google Health app. Users can manually start workouts or rely on automatic activity detection for common exercises. Google says the tracking system adapts to user behavior over time for better accuracy.

The device also integrates with Google Health Coach for personalized fitness guidance. Users can even log workouts by taking photos of gym equipment or workout boards through the app.

Fitbit is also offering multiple interchangeable band styles with the device. The standard Performance Loop Band is made from recycled materials, while the Active Band focuses on sweat resistance for workouts. There is also an Elevated Modern Band designed to look more like a fashion bracelet.

Google has also partnered with Stephen Curry for a special edition version of the tracker. The Stephen Curry Edition includes a rye brown Performance Loop band with orange accents and a special airflow-focused design.

The Fitbit Air includes Bluetooth 5.0 support, water resistance up to 50 meters, a skin temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, optical heart rate monitor, and vibration motor.

The device is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices.

The standard Fitbit Air is priced at $99.99 (around Rs. 9,400) and includes a three-month Google Health Premium trial. The Stephen Curry Special Edition costs $129.99 (around Rs. 12,200), while additional accessory bands start at $34.99 (around Rs. 3,290).
