Google has announced that Gemini integration inside Google Chrome is coming to Android devices in June. The announcement was made during the Android Show: I/O Edition livestream.
Once the feature rolls out, Android users will see a new Gemini icon at the top-right corner of the Chrome toolbar. Tapping the icon will open a chat interface from the bottom of the screen, allowing users to interact with Gemini directly while browsing.
Google says most Gemini in Chrome features already available on desktop will also arrive on Android.
This includes Nano Banana image generation, integration with Google apps like Google Calendar and Google Keep, and Personal Intelligence support. The Personal Intelligence feature allows Gemini to use context from other Google services to provide more personalized responses and assistance.
Google is also bringing its “auto browse” feature to Android devices. The feature allows Gemini to complete tasks automatically on behalf of users. For example, Google says users could ask Gemini to reserve parking tickets for an event, and the AI agent can use information from confirmation emails or tickets to complete the process.
However, auto browse will require either an AI Pro or AI Ultra subscription.
Google says the feature includes the same security protections available on desktop versions of Gemini in Chrome. The company specifically mentioned protection against prompt injection attacks and said users will still need to confirm sensitive actions like purchases or social media posts before they are completed.
The rollout will begin in late June for Android users in the United States. To use Gemini in Chrome on Android, devices must have at least 4GB RAM and run Android 12 or newer.
