Meta is adding a new way for people to share on Threads. The company has announced that users can now attach up to 10,000 characters of text to a post. This new feature is designed for those moments when 500 characters are just not enough.
The text appears directly inside Threads, so readers do not have to leave the app to view it. Creators can use it to share longer perspectives, excerpts, or even previews of their work. For example, authors could tease chapters of an upcoming book, and journalists could promote their latest article. If needed, a link to the full content can also be added in the main post.

Meta says this update is part of its efforts to improve the creator experience on Threads. The platform has already been popular for quick posts and short conversations, but this move makes it more flexible for deeper discussions. It also gives creators another tool to showcase their work and connect with their audience.
Threads has been growing steadily since launch, positioning itself as Meta’s answer to X (formerly Twitter). By allowing longer text attachments, Meta is signaling that it wants Threads to be more than just a place for short updates. It could become a hub for writers, journalists, and creators who want to share more without moving to another platform.
The feature is rolling out now, and Meta says it will continue to gather feedback to improve how it works.
