Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is known as one of the most advanced and realistic flight simulators ever made. The game is finally landing on PlayStation. Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Asobo Studio have confirmed that the game will release for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro on December 8, 2025. This will be the first time the long-running franchise makes its way to PlayStation.
For those with a PlayStation VR2 headset, full VR support will arrive later as a free update in 2026.
The game originally launched for Xbox Series X|S and PC in November 2024. Now, PlayStation players will get the same full experience, complete with next-level realism, detailed aircraft, and global exploration.
The PlayStation 5 version takes full advantage of the DualSense wireless controller. Adaptive triggers adjust depending on speed and ground surfaces, while air traffic control (ATC) messages play through the controller’s speaker for a cockpit-like feel. Gyro controls, lightbar support, and a customizable touchpad add even more immersion to flights.
Players can explore the entire globe, with over 40,000 airports, 60,000 helipads, and seven continents rendered in stunning detail. Real-time weather, day-night cycles, and live air traffic make the experience as close to real-world flying as possible.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 features a fleet of 125 highly detailed aircraft. Each aircraft has been flight-tested by real pilots for accurate performance and aerodynamics.
The new career system adds more depth, letting virtual pilots build experience and unlock specialized missions. You can take on firefighting, search and rescue, aerial construction, agriculture, and more. For casual players, the simulator also offers relaxing flights to explore landmarks, capture screenshots, or even search for exotic wildlife.
Just like on Xbox and PC, the PlayStation version will continue to receive free World Updates and Sim Updates, keeping the game fresh. There is also a dedicated marketplace filled with new aircraft, airports, and content from third-party creators.
