AttritoM7 Productions, the team behind Zero Hour, has announced its next big project: BLACKWOOD. BLACKWOOD is a third-person action thriller set in 2012 New York. The game is coming to PC via Steam in Q3 2026.

BLACKWOOD follows the story of Anton Blackwood, a man living a double life. By day, he runs a small DVD store in Brooklyn, trying to live a quiet, normal life. By night, he becomes a skilled assassin moving through the dangerous streets of New York.

During the day, players can experience Anton’s calm side, which includes managing the DVD store, interacting with customers, and spending time with a woman who sees his softer nature. Players can decorate the store, explore Anton’s apartment, and enjoy small RPG-style moments that show his attempt to live an ordinary life.

But when night falls, the tone changes completely. Anton leaves the safety of the store and becomes a ruthless killer. His missions are violent, stylish, and cinematic, inspired by the crime thrillers he loves. Players will engage in brutal melee takedowns, environmental kills, and high-speed chases through the neon-lit streets of New York.

BLACKWOOD promises fluid and responsive combat that mixes gunplay with close-quarters fighting. Players can dive, roll, and slide during intense shootouts, creating their own cinematic action sequences.

The game’s signature mechanic is its contextual takedown system, allowing players to finish enemies in countless creative ways. Every fight feels grounded and impactful, rewarding precision and timing.

The story of BLACKWOOD explores themes of identity, violence, and consequence. Anton believes he is in control of his story, but someone else may be pulling the strings from the shadows. The game blends moments of quiet reflection with intense action, showing how Anton struggles to maintain his humanity in a world that punishes weakness.

The developers describe BLACKWOOD as a “slow-burn action thriller,” where every decision matters. Each mission reveals new secrets, and every character adds depth to the story. Even the smallest details, posters, tattoos, and ads, contribute to the world-building.
