Apple has officially announced the iPhone 17, and it comes with big upgrades in design, cameras, and performance. The new iPhone introduces a Center Stage front camera, a 48MP Dual Fusion rear camera system, a brighter 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, and the new A19 chip for next-level speed and efficiency.
The iPhone 17 features a 6.3-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion up to 120Hz for smoother scrolling, gaming, and animations. It supports Always-On display and reaches 3000 nits peak outdoor brightness, making it Apple’s brightest iPhone display yet.
Apple has introduced Ceramic Shield 2, which is now 3x more scratch resistant than before and reduces glare with improved anti-reflection coating. The bezels are thinner, giving the iPhone 17 a sleeker look.
The new iPhone 17 packs the new A19 chip, built on 3nm technology. It features a 6-core CPU that is 1.5x faster than A15 Bionic and a 5-core GPU that is over 2x faster, unlocking console-level graphics for mobile gaming. The A19 chip also powers Apple Intelligence features, advanced photography tools, and better battery efficiency.

The iPhone 17 ships with iOS 26, which comes with a refreshed design called Liquid Glass, smarter Apple Intelligence features, and new tools for communication, productivity, and entertainment. Live Translation, advanced visual search, better call and message screening, and the new Apple Games app are among the highlights.
For the first time, both rear cameras on the iPhone are 48MP Fusion sensors. The Main camera delivers sharp detail and includes a built-in 2x Telephoto for closer shots without losing quality. The new 48MP Ultra Wide camera captures expansive landscapes, macro shots, and wide group photos in much greater detail compared to previous models.
Apple has also improved Photographic Styles, giving users more control over colors, highlights, and shadows in real time. A new Bright style enhances skin tones and adds vibrance to photos.
Videos are equally impressive with 4K60 Dolby Vision recording, Cinematic mode, Action mode, and spatial video support for viewing on Apple Vision Pro.
It also has all-new Center Stage front camera. It features the first square front camera sensor on an iPhone, delivering higher resolution photos of up to 18MP. Users can now take selfies in both portrait and landscape without rotating the phone, making group shots easier and more natural.
The iPhone 17 introduces the N1 wireless chip with support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. Connectivity is faster, more stable, and more secure.
iPhone 17 delivers up to 30 hours of video playback and charges up to 50% in 20 minutes with a fast USB-C power adapter.
iPhone 17 will be available in five colors: black, lavender, mist blue, sage, and white. It starts at 256GB of storage, with a 512GB option also available. Pricing begins at $799 (U.S.) or $33.29 per month, with pre-orders opening on September 12 and availability starting September 19.
