Apple has announced the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the most advanced Pro models yet. Both phones come with a completely new design, faster performance, and big improvements in cameras and battery life.
The iPhone 17 Pro series features a brushed aluminum unibody made from aerospace-grade 7000-series alloy. This design improves heat management and durability while also creating extra space for a bigger battery. Apple has added a vapor chamber cooling system, which uses sealed deionized water to keep the powerful A19 Pro chip running cooler and faster for longer.
The phones are available in two sizes: 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR displays. Both support ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, and reach 3000 nits peak brightness, the highest ever on an iPhone. A new anti-reflective coating also reduces glare, making outdoor use much easier.
At the core is the A19 Pro chip, Apple’s most powerful processor to date. It offers 40% better sustained performance compared to the previous generation. The 6-core CPU and 6-core GPU come with built-in Neural Accelerators, delivering console-quality gaming, advanced AI capabilities, and smooth multitasking.
The phones also feature the new N1 wireless chip with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support, improving wireless performance and reliability for features like AirDrop and Personal Hotspot.
The phones ship with iOS 26, which comes with Apple Intelligence for smarter on-device AI. New features include Live Translation, improved screenshot search, better call and message screening, and a refreshed design called Liquid Glass. The update also brings improvements to CarPlay, Apple Music, Maps, and a new Apple Games app.
The iPhone 17 Pro series introduces Apple’s most advanced camera system. It includes three 48MP Fusion cameras — Main, Ultra Wide, and a new Telephoto. Together, they provide the equivalent of eight professional lenses.
The new 48MP Telephoto lens brings up to 8x optical zoom (200mm), the longest ever on iPhone, perfect for portraits and distant shots. A next-generation Photonic Engine enhances detail, colors, and low-light performance. Digital zoom now goes up to 40x for photos.
On the front, the new 18MP Center Stage camera uses a square sensor for wider shots and higher detail. It can capture in portrait or landscape without rotating the phone. Center Stage also supports Dual Capture, letting users record with front and back cameras at the same time.
For content creators, iPhone 17 Pro supports ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Dolby Vision HDR, and genlock, a feature that synchronizes multiple cameras during filming. This makes the phone even more useful for professional video production.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max now delivers the best battery life ever in an iPhone, with up to 39 hours of video playback. Both models support 50% charge in 20 minutes with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.
The iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at $1,199 and, for the first time, offers up to 2TB of storage.
