Nintendo has dropped fresh gameplay footage for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It gives us a closer look at wild Pokémon in Lumiose City and an intense nighttime tournament called the Z-A Royale. The game was first announced last year, and we’re finally getting more details about its open-world mechanics, battles, and new features.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set in Lumiose City. Unlike previous Pokémon games where wild Pokémon appear only in specific zones, Legends: Z-A seems to take a more open-world approach. The latest trailer confirms that Pokémon can be found all over the city, including on rooftops. This means trainers can encounter, battle, and capture Pokémon while freely exploring Lumiose City.
One of the biggest reveals from the trailer is the Z-A Royale. It is a mysterious nighttime tournament that takes over the streets of Lumiose City. Trainers start at Rank Z and must fight their way to Rank A for a chance to have a “wish granted.”
The trailer also showcased trainer battles, including a new “surprise attack” feature.
We still don’t know the full extent of how Legends: Z-A will compare to Legends: Arceus, but based on the rooftop exploration, open-world mechanics, and intense battles, it seems exciting.
