DOR QLED TV

Streambox Media has unveiled Dor, a subscription-based smart TV service in India. Dor brings premium hardware with a comprehensive content library from multiple OTT platforms. It is important to note that Streambox Media was co-founded by Anuj Gandhi and is supported by Micromax Informatics, Nikhil Kamath, and Stride Ventures.

Dor smart TV features 4K Ultra HD resolution, Dolby Audio, a solar-powered remote, and a Dor operating system. The remote charges through both indoor and outdoor lighting, so you don’t need to worry about changing batteries.

Dor OS has customizable home screen layouts and color schemes. It has a built-in voice assistant for search and control. You also get multi-profiles for personalized recommendations. The OS also has parental controls for enhanced security.

If I talk about hardware specs, the smart TV packs a quad-core Cortex A55 processor, Mali-G31 MP2 @ 800 MHz GPU, 1.5GB RAM, and 8GB RAM. It also has dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The TV also has speakers rated to offer 40 W sound output.

Dor is offering a TV-as-a-service model that bundles hardware and content into a single subscription. You can buy a 43-inch, 55-inch, or 65-inch smart TV for an upfront activation fee of Rs. 9999, Rs. 16999, and Rs. 24999, respectively. Then pay Rs. 799 per month for a 12-month lock-in period.

After 12 months, you can choose from custom subscription packages starting at Rs. 299 or return the TV and get up to Rs. 5,000.

Dor also comes with over 24 streaming apps, including Prime Video, Jio Cinema, Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, SonyLiv, YouTube, Discovery+, Sun Nxt, Aha, Hoichoi, Lionsgate Play, and more. Additionally, Dor offers access to 300+ live TV channels integrated into a seamless interface. Netflix is currently not part of the service, but the company promises to bring it soon.
