A 10-minute food-delivery startup Swish has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Accel. The funding round also saw participation from notable angel investors, including Urban Company founders Abhiraj Bhal and Varun Khaitan, and former Swiggy Instamart head Karthik Gurumurthy.
Swish was founded by Aniket Shah, Ujjwal Sukheja, and Saran S. in 2024. The company uses its network of cloud kitchens known as “delight centers” operating within a compact radius of 1.5–2 km for delivering food in 10 minutes.
“We realized that quick commerce, initially seen as a convenience, has quickly become indispensable as people seek faster solutions to their everyday needs,” said Aniket Shah, CEO and Co-founder of Swish. “Despite advancements in other categories, food delivery times still often range from 30-60 minutes, which falls short of meeting the urgency customers now expect, especially for their craving needs.”
Swish wants to position itself as a leader in the hyperlocal food delivery space. It plans to open 150 delight centres across Bengaluru by March 2025. But it already has competition from some big names. Swiggy introduced Bolt last month for delivering food in 10 minutes. Zomato also tested Zomato Instant back in 2022 for 10-minute food delivery but scraped it last year.
India’s quick commerce market is projected to reach $40 billion by 2030. It has already made significant inroads with groceries and has transformed how consumers shop for everyday essentials. While still a relatively new concept, quick commerce is now poised to disrupt the food sector.
