To enhance the book-buying experience for its customers, Amazon has introduced a new feature “Your Books,” a direct competitor to book tracking and recommendations site Goodreads. It is worth noting that Goodreads is also owned by the Amazon.
Your Books will act as a central place for all books users have purchased, borrowed, or saved, including print books, Kindle titles, and Audible audiobooks. The feature will also use Amazon’s vast dataset to make book recommendations
Users can categorize their book collections by genre, authors, series, and more in the Your Books section. The Library tab showcases every book bought or borrowed from Amazon. There’s a Saved Books tab that compiles all the books users have saved to their Amazon Wish Lists. Users can filter results based on price, subscription eligibility, genre interests, and more.
The feature provides book recommendations based on individual titles, groups of titles, or the user’s entire library and reading history.
There is also a Discovery Mode that transforms the library into a personalized “bookstore tailored just for you.” It presents recommendations across genres and displays similar titles associated with a selected book.
Your Books is now live on Amazon.com, offering readers a way to explore, organize, and discover their next favorite book to read.
