The popular ridesharing app Uber has teamed up with the Indian Navy to be their special partner for transportation. This means they’ll provide reliable, convenient, and safe rides for naval officers, staff, and their families all over India.

In this partnership, Uber’s ride-sharing technology, called Uber for Business, will be used by the Indian Navy as the Naval ecosystem. This will make it easier for Navy members to book rides and make their travels smoother and more efficient.

As a part of this teamwork, Uber also wants to improve how the Navy handles official travel and commuting and offer special benefits to them.

Abhinav Mittoo, Senior Country Manager, Uber for Business in India, South Asia & Egypt, said, “We are happy to work with the Indian Navy, which is moving toward using digital technology. This partnership is a big step in using shared transportation options. With this agreement, we want to help the Navy use technology for positive changes.”

CNS Admiral R Hari Kumar from the Indian Navy mentioned, “We started this partnership to find a solution for our officers and their families when they need to travel. Uber is known for making travel comfortable, easy, and reliable. This agreement is an important part of our efforts to keep our Navy personnel happy. It’s also in line with our ‘SHIPS FIRST’ approach, which means we always think about the needs of our Navy platforms first, no matter where they are. This agreement covers not only our Navy members but also their families.”

He also said, “I’ve heard that the special Uber account for Indian Navy personnel will have extra benefits like no cancellation fees, special types of vehicles, and better customer support. We want to extend this partnership to our veterans and other services. Using Uber’s eco-friendly vehicles will also help reduce pollution and make traveling even better.”
