During WWDC 2023 keynote, Apple unveiled the second-generation Mac Studio. The new system comes with M2 Max or M2 Ultra chip. The new Mac Studio starts at $1,999 The form factor of Mac Studio is similar to the existing Mac Studio.

The most notable upgrade is in performance. The M2 Max variant packs a 12-core CPU, up to a 38-core GPU, and up to 96GB of unified memory. Apple promises a 20% better performance compared to M1 Max.

The M2 Ultra variant has a 24-core CPU and up to a 76-core GPU. Apple also claims that Mac Studio with M2 Ultra is around 6 times faster than the fastest Intel-based Mac.

The M2 Ultra version of Mac Studio supports up to six Pro Display XDRs. It now has higher-bandwidth HDMI that enables up to 8K resolution and 240Hz frame rates. It also supports WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The device has four Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 10Gb ethernet port, an HDMI port, and two USB-A ports. There are also two USB-C ports and an SD card slot.
