Meta Verified was initially announced back in February but it was not instantly made available in India. Finally, Meta has brought its Meta Verified subscription model to India along with the UK and Canada.

To qualify for the Meta Verified subscription, a user must be at least 18 years of age and have a few posts on the profile to show. The user must provide a government-issued ID to confirm the name and photo that should match the name and photo on Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Users who subscribe to Meta Verified will get a verification badge. The subscription will also provide protection from impersonation with proactive account monitoring along with exclusive stickers on Stories and Reels across Facebook and Instagram.

For subscribing to Meta Verified, Go to ‘Settings’ on Instagram or Facebook. Then click ‘Accounts Center’ and tap ‘Meta Verified’. Select your preferred payment method and verify your identity using a government-issued photo ID.

Meta Verified subscription costs Rs. 599 if you subscribe using the web. If you pay using the Android and iOS app, you will have to pay Rs. 699.

Accounts that already have verification on Facebook and Instagram will maintain their status. They don’t need to pay for Meta Verified.
