A few days back Riot confirmed that hackers breached its development systems and accessed the source code of games and anti-cheat software for some of the games. The company also received an email from the hacker with a demand of $10 million ransom for not leaking the source code online.

As per reports, hackers got access to Riot Game’s network via social engineering attack and had access to the development network for 36 hours. They wanted to steal the source code for Riot Vanguard but couldn’t.

Now a new listing on a popular hacking forum is selling the alleged source code for League of Legends for a minimum of $1 million. The data also includes Packman and user mode anti-cheat for League of Legends and Valorant.

The post includes a PDF that contains a directory listing of the stolen source code. I downloaded the PDF and checked it. It appears to be the source code for games associated with Riot Games. The data is 72.4GB and includes more than 64000 folders along with more than 550,00 files.

With source code for games and an anti-cheat system, a hacker can create cheats or exploits for these games.

I cannot say if the source code is actually worth $1 million for someone. It is also difficult to verify the listing and whether the seller actually owns the source code.
