The third quarter saw a decline in PC sales because the demand for new computers is slowing down. Now Canalys has published a new report on PC shipments which claims that PC shipments were down by 13.5 percent in the third quarter. Except for Apple, All the companies saw negative year-over-year growth in Q3, 2022 as compared to Q3, 2021. The report includes both PC and tablet shipments.
Apple managed to sell 23.4 million devices in Q3, 2022 and saw a 1.5 percent growth year-over-year. Apple was also the number PC maker in the quarter with 22.2 percent of the market share.

Lenovo was in 2nd place with 18.4 percent and 19,410 units of shipments. HP shipped 12,713 units and managed to get a 12% market share.
“In the total PC market (desktops, notebooks, and tablets), Apple topped the table with 23.4 million units shipped worldwide, grabbing a 22% market share as the only major vendor to post year-on-year growth in Q3,” Canalys said in the blog post.
The report also specifically talked about Chromebook sales. As per Canalys report, Acer was the top Chromebook seller in Q3 2022 with a 25.9 percent market share. It shipped 1,069 Chromebooks. HP and Lenovo stand in second and third places with 19.5 percent and 18.6 market shares. These companies shipped 802 and 768 Chromebooks.
