Twitter is now testing a new way to make it easier to share Tweets on WhatsApp. The company is adding a WhatsApp icon below the tweet for some users. The WhatsApp share button will reduce one step for people who usually share Tweets on WhatsApp. Previously, users needed to tap the share icon and then select WhatsApp for sharing a Tweet on WhatsApp.

Twitter India confirmed testing the WhatsApp Share icon via Tweet.

For now, the company has just replaced the share icon with WhatsApp. Because tapping the WhatsApp icon again asks for selecting WhatsApp to share the tweet on WhatsApp. The feature is being tested with a limited number of users in India. So, it should get updates before coming to all users.

Twitter recently started testing the ‘Edit’ button internally and will release it for Twitter Blue users by the end of this month. The Edit button will let users edit a published tweet within 30 minutes of publishing the Tweet.

WhatsApp is really popular in India with more than 400 million active users. So, trying to deeply integrate WhatsApp share on the platform makes sense. ShareChat already offered a similar button to share a post on WhatsApp.
