DuckDuckGo has today announced the launch of its privacy-focused browsing app for Mac. Now the browser is available in Beta on Mac. If you are interested, you will have to join a private waitlist to gain access.

The browser uses the DuckDuckGo search engine by default. It also blocks all web trackers and cookie consent pop-ups that appear when you first open a website. The browser also features a “Fire” button that burns browsing history and tabs in a single click. Other notable features include website encryption, email protection, password management, tab management, bookmarks, and more.

On the browser’s homepage, it shows how many trackers it blocked on different websites. It also lets you clear any stored data from websites you recently visited.

The company claims that the browser on mac is really fast and offers a fast web browsing experience. DuckDuckGo for Mac uses the WebKit rendering engine used by Safari. The browser is even faster than Chrome on some graphics performance. It also uses about 60% less data than Chrome.

DuckDuckGo claims that the browser is designed to be a browser that respects your privacy.

To join the waitlist, you need to download the DuckDuckGo app on mobile. Then go to Settings and select the DuckDuckGo for Desktop option from the Privacy section. Now, wait to receive a notification from the app. The notification will offer an invite code and link to download the browser on our Mac.
