While announcing the latest Galaxy S22 series, Samsung confirmed that the newly announced devices will receive 4 major OS updates and security patches for 5 years. That means devices will get up to Android 1 and security patches until 2027.

The good news is that this announcement also covers 2021 flagships. Originally these devices were promised 4 years of software support. Now, these devices will get a year of extra patches and one more OS update.
