Microsoft today launched its own personalized news service calls Microsoft Start. It is available as both a website and mobile apps. It will also be integrated with other Microsoft products, including Windows 10 and 11 and its Microsoft Edge web browser.
Basically, Microsoft is combining MSN feed and Microsoft News into a single service Microsoft Start. Microsoft Start will provide news from more than 1,000 publishers. It will also use AI and machine learning algorithms to sort different news. Users will get personalized content based on interests and how you engage with content.
To check Microsoft Start, you can visit MicrosoftStart.com. You can also download mobile apps available for iOS or Android. MicrosoftStart.com works fine on Chrome and Microsoft Edge but not on Safari.
Users can manually add and remove interests from available categories like news, entertainment, sports, technology, money, finance, travel, health, shopping, and more. This will give them ability to get a personalized feed of news they are interested in reading.
Your preferences are linked to your Microsoft account. So, the service will offer a better experience when you are logged in.
MSN isn’t going away but Microsoft Start is replacing Microsoft News. Icons and name of the apps will change to new branding after the app update. Microsoft News website will be redirected to the Start home.
