WhatsApp is now reportedly testing a new feature that will allow the transfer of chats between phone numbers too. If you are changing your phone number, this feature will help you move your existing WhatsApp account to a new phone number.
For moving the WhatsApp chats to a new phone number, you will have to first link the new phone number to your WhatsApp account. After that, you can completely transfer chats between numbers. Chat transfer also includes media transfer. So, you won’t miss anything.
WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta-tracking site, first spotted this feature. WABetaInfo confirmed that the feature is current under development for both Android nd iOS. However, we cannot confirm when this feature will be available in stable version.
WhatsApp is also testing a feature to transfer chat between Android and iOS smartphones. So, if you are changing your phone from Android to iOS or iOS to Android, you can easily transfer your chat. The company already allows users to change the primary phone number in the WhatsApp account. This new feature is helpful when you are not just changing the phone number but also changing the phone.
