Clubhouse is an invite-only audio chat app available only for iOS users. While Android users are eagerly waiting for the app, the company has found itself in the middle of a controversy.
As per a new report from Cyber News, data of around 1.3 million Clubhouse users is up for grab in a popular hacker forum. This data includes User ID, Name, Photo URL, Username, Twitter handle, Instagram handle, number of followers, number of accounts following, account creation date, and profile name of the user who invited.

After this news became trending, Clubhouse clarified that the report is misleading. The leaked data is actually the public profile information that anyone can access using the app or the API.
I am not sure why the company is calling the report misleading. The original source also didn’t claim that the data was hacked from the system. The main news is that the leaked data is up to grab on a hacker forum. It could be scrapped or grabbed from API. The report also mentioned that there is no sensitive information such as credit card details in the leaked data. But the leaked data is enough for a cybercriminal to cause real damage to users.
