RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro gaming phones with 165Hz AMOLED display announced

Nubia has launched two new gaming smartphones in collaboration with Tencent. RedMagic 6 and 6 Pro are now up for order in China and will be released in other countries this month.

RedMagic 6 and RedMagic 6 Pro are identical but differ in some internals. Both eh phones come with a 6.8-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen. The display boasts a 165Hz refresh rate, 500Hz single finger touch sampling rate, and 360Hz multi-finger touch sampling rate. There is also a Touch Choreographer feature that selects the most accurate refresh rate between 60Hz/90Hz/120Hz/165Hz based on your activity.

The phone packs Octa-Core Snapdragon 888 5nm Soc with Adreno 660 GPU to offer high-end performance. The company has also used a new ICE 6.0 Multi-dimensional Cooling System with a built-in turbofan. This setup can increase the air heat transfer coefficient by 500%. There is also a large copper foil that covers the battery and a vapor chamber behind the motherboard, connected by thermal paste. This setup claims to reduce the CPU temperature by 16 degrees C to ensure a continuous and stable output of the core performance.

RedMagic 6 comes with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. RedMagic 6 Pro offers up to 18GB RAM and Up to 512GB storage.

The camera setup is the same on both phones. There is a triple camera setup with 64 megapixels primary camera, 8 megapixels 120-degree ultra-wide camera, and 2 megapixels macro camera. It also has an 8 megapixels selfie camera.

The fingerprint sensor is located under the display. Both the phones have Stereo speakers, Dual Smart PA, and 3 mics.

Connectivity options include 5G NSA /SA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6E 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS ( L1/L5)+ GLONASS, and USB Type-C. RedMagic 6 packs 5050mAh battery with 66W fast charging and RedMagic 6 Pro comes with 4500mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
