Instagram Reels Gets ‘Branded Content Tag’ and more

Branded Content Tag Reels

Now when Reels are popular among Instagram users, the company has introduced ‘Branded content Tag’ for Reels. This tag will soon also be added to Live.

The tag help viewers understand if the Reels was a natural post or a sponsored post from brand. This will increase transparency.

“We want to ensure creators can clearly disclose when they’re creating branded content, no matter what format they choose to use. To help increase transparency, the Branded Content tag is launching in Reels today, and will begin testing in Live in the coming weeks,” Instagram said in an official blog post.

The company is also now launching new workflow that lets advertisers create Branded Content ads without the need for a creator to post organically on Instagram first. Brands will have now more flexibility for running Branded Content ads.

Instagram is also updating Branded Content ads in Stories. These stores can now include tappable elements, such as @mentions, location and hashtags.

Instagram recently added ability for businesses and creators to set a minimum age for their branded content posts on Instagram. Creators can now set a default minimum age or a minimum age for specific countries if they want.

The company wants to give advertisers easier and simpler options to promote their products while keeping transparency to avoid any lawsuits. Creators should also understand that keeping transparency is important.
