Xbox has once again made Tell Me Why free to claim. During June 2026, players can head to the Xbox Store right now and add the game to their library at no cost. Once claimed, the game is yours to keep permanently, even after the promotion ends.

This has become an annual tradition for Xbox during Pride Month. The game has been offered for free several times in previous years, and the promotion has now returned.

Originally released on August 27, 2020, Tell Me Why was developed by DONTNOD Entertainment, the studio behind the popular Life is Strange series, and published by Xbox Game Studios. The game launched on Xbox One and PC before becoming playable on newer Xbox consoles through backward compatibility.

The full game normally sells for $19.99 on the Xbox Store. During this promotion, all three chapters are available for free. Players simply need to claim the game before July 1, after which it is expected to return to its regular price.

Unlike many free weekends and trial offers, this is not a temporary access program. Once the game is added to your account during the promotional period, it remains in your library permanently.

Tell Me Why is a narrative adventure that follows twins Tyler and Alyson Ronan as they revisit their childhood home in Alaska and uncover long-buried family secrets. The game received praise for its storytelling, character development, and emotional themes. It currently holds a Metacritic score of 78 and has earned a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam.
