Microsoft has finally confirmed the details of Xbox Series S while announcing next-gen gaming consoles. Xbox Series X is powerful for high-end gaming but Series S is for the affordable gaming experience.

Microsoft is using the same CPU from the Xbox Series X inside the Series S. So, both Series X and Series S pack 8-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.8GHz. The primary difference is the GPU, but they also differ in a few other things. Xbox Series S has 20 CUs at 1.565GHz which means 4 teraflops of performance while Series X offers 12.15 teraflops (52 CUs at 1.825 GHz). Xbox Series S is basically for 1080p or 1440p gaming while Xbox Series will offer 4K gaming.

Xbox Series S will be capable of running next-gen games at a lower resolution than Xbox Series X. Microsoft is using the same expansion slot in Series S found on the Series X.
