It seems Facebook also wants professionals to use its platform for video calls. The company has launched Messenger Rooms for video calls up to 50 people and no time limit. Company CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the features in a live stream today.

If you do video calls with several people for offering meeting or connecting to family and friends, you can try using Messenger Rooms.

The person who creates Messenger Rook can decide if the room is open to all or lock to present uninvited guests from joining. The creator can also remove participants at any time. You will be able to start a room from both Messenger and Facebook apps. Later, rooms will also come to Instagram Direct, WhatsApp, and Portal.

Facebook’s augmented reality filters and real-life virtual backgrounds will also be available. Some backgrounds will also offer 360-degree views of exotic locales. Facebook is also allowing people without Facebook accounts to join a Messenger Room via a link.

The company has confirmed that Room Calls are not end-to-end encrypted but Facebook won’t view or listen to calls. It is hard to trust Facebook on privacy.

Facebook has confirmed that this feature will be available to all users sometime in the next few weeks.
