Google has officially launched Android Go based on Android 10

Today, Google has officially unveiled the Android Go based on Android 10 for entry-level smartphones. This OS is smaller in size and faster.

This version of Android Go is built to run on devices with 1.5GB of RAM or less. Android Go based on Android 10 includes Gallery Go, YouTube Go, Google Lens and Files by Google.

There are several other apps that have their Lite version designed for Android Go. Lite apps are much smaller in size with all the key features.

Google says that apps launch is 10% faster on lasted Android Go as compared to Android Go based on Android 9. It also features Adiantum, an encryption protocol specifically developed by Google to run on entry-level phones. Traditional encryption requires powerful processing but Adiantum has been designed for low-end devices. So, all entry-level devices can now encrypt data without affecting device performance.

Google has confirmed that there are more than 1,600 Android (Go edition) device models launched by over 500 manufacturers in 180+ countries. It shows that Android Go is important for several markets.
