Oppo Unveils a new sub-brand ‘Reno’

Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has unveiled a new sub-brand ‘Reno’ in China. The company has also confirmed that the brand will be officially launched on April 10 along with the first phone under the brand.

Brian Shen, Oppo’s Vice President shared the logo of this new brand on Weibo. The logo is colorful suggesting colorful designer phones targeted towards the youth. However, there are no details about the brand’s strategy or details of any phone.

In another report, a new Oppo phone was found listed on AnTuTu revealing some key specifications. As per listing, the phone with model number OP46C3 will come with Snapdragon 855 processor, Adreno 640 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. But I cannot say if this phone belong to the new brand.

Oppo introduced Realme sub-brand in India last year and that brand has launched several phones price aggressive phones in the country since its inception. Reno could also be the part of the same strategy.

It is worth to note the Vivo,e another subsidiary of BBK who owns Oppo, also announced a new sub-brand iQOO for gaming phones. It also launched it first phone in China earlier this month.
