Samsung has been working on foldable display phone for a long time, but we are still waiting for an actual product. Now we can expect a foldable phone from Samsung next year.

Samsung is aiming to add a foldable display in next Note phone. Samsung Electronics mobile president Koh Dong-jin confirmed this today.

“As the head of the business, I can say our current goal is next year,” he explained. “When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product.”

We still have no details of the foldable phone, but we are already excited for it. Almost a year back, we were expecting a foldable phone from Samsung but it couldn’t become reality. We also saw a sketch prototype in Samsung’s patent filing, but couldn’t get any actual photo. Lenovo even showed a prototype but the company is still working to make an actual product.

Koh Dong-jin also confirmed that Samsung is working on a AI-powered smart speaker. And we know that the speaker will be powered by Samsung’s own Bixby.
