Gboard for Android gets hand drawn emoji recognition, improved search and more

Google has updated the Gboard app for Android to make it better. It offers better search results with machine intelligence and ability to draw emojis while texting.

In emoji search box, you can now tap the emoji handwriting icon to draw emoji and it will automatically recognize and show results for your favorite emoji.

Now it also includes phrase suggestions and predicts what you could type next. As of now, suggestions are only available in English language and it will be rolling out for more languages soon.

The search results have also been improved. It will now offer multiple results and makes it easier to search and share in any app. From search cards, you can directly go to Maps, watch a YouTube video or call a business.

Now Gboard supports more than 200 languages. Google also added suggestions and gesture typing for Azerbaijani (Iran), Dhivehi, French (Belgium), Hawaiian, Maori and Samoan.
