OnePlus CEO shares OnePlus 3 selfie; Specifications and Launch Date Leaked

On Tuesday, OnePlus gave details of how it is planning to launch is flagship smartphone dropping hints that the eminent launch of the OnePlus is near. Now, from fresh information that has been leaked by a well-known tipster has revealed further specifications of the device. Around the same time, OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau shared a sample image from the front camera.

The selfie was posted on Weibo, a Chinese social networking website. The resolution of the image was 2448×3264 pixels which translated to an 8MP front camera.

Evan Blass also took to Twitter via his handle @evleaks to share a screenshot from the OnePlus 3. The device was running on OxygenOS v3.1.0 based on an Android N preview build. The screen capture further revealed the other specs of the device, stating that it may feature 5.5 inches wide display and run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820. The rear camera on the device may come with a 16MP sensor. According to Blass, there may also be a return of NFC, a feature which was dropped in the OnePlus 2.

According to other reports, a OnePlus customer service representative slipped that the device is all set to launch on June 14, keeping compliance with the Q2 launch which was expected. TheNextRex was the first to spot this information and had included the screen shot of the conversation in order to prove the credibility. The employee reportedly also confirmed that even though the launch event is going to be in VR, the users can watch all the action without the headsets. The company has confirmed that the launch event will take place on a VR space station. They also made available 30000 headsets, which all sold out in record time.
