Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg has just confirmed that Facebook’s messenger now has 800 million monthly active users. Messenger took around 6 months to reach to 800 million monthly active users from 700 million active users. It announced 700 million monthly active users back in June 2015.

Facebook is constantly trying to improve its messenger platform which was started as a simple chat service. Now, it offers various stickers, video calls, apps, payments along with business offerings. Facebook has already begun testing its personal digital assistant M for messenger.

Facebook is constantly trying to push users to use messenger. This is the reason it removes chatting option from native Facebook app. It helped Facebook to get more active users on Messenger. Now people can also use messenger without even having account on Facebook. Although, very few people will try to use it without Facebook account. Everyone wants to be on Facebook.
