Facebook DislikeIn a Q+A session held at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park California, Founder Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that Facebook is working to add ‘Dislike’ button. Company is very closed to push the button to small users for testing.

He confirmed that this button is not meant to show negativity like we have in YouTube but this button is about “expressing empathy.” There are many cases when a person post sad status about someone’s death, a big crisis or natural disaster. Liking these kind of post does not make sense. So, there should be something to show your expressions without actually writing a long comment.

It is also possible that the Facebook is working to add wider range of reactions very similar to what it added in status updates with ‘Feeling’ thing. Facebook wants to keep interaction simple by giving many options to choose from.

Facebook is all set for user testing. So, we can expect the ‘Dislike’ button or something similar in coming days.
